14/10 (Fri) THEGETUP! @ INSENSES
It has been one hell of a September! (and literally...October too!)
First, Eric Lau came thru to the special edition of TheGetUp! and performed a hard hitting energetic set that had everyone's mind blown with a selection of classic Jay Dee productions, to rare unreleased beats, disco, boogie and soul, good times for sure!
The we farewelled our brother DJ JUMBO for his return to the land of the rising sun, we wish him all the best with Kumiko and await their return...very soon.
Aside from various other gigs here and there...we present the October 2011 THEGETUP!, which will feature our new friends DJ KITCHOM from Tokyo, and the one and only Mr. NRVS aka Drew from San Francisco.
As always, all form of soul, jazz and beats for dancers and groovers.

23/9 (Fri) ERIC LAU LIVE @ INSENSES
THEGETUP! is proud to present, Eric Lau (Ubiquity Record)
Straight from London UK, Eric is one of the most critical acclaimed producer in recent years. This would be Eric's formal debut performance in Hong Kong, which will feature Eric doing a 2 hr DJ set ranging from his signature production, soul, boogie, and broken beat vibrations.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Eric Lau (London, UK)
Eric Lau is a London-based producer, known for his work with an array of international artists such as Lupe Fiasco, Dudley Perkins, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Guilty Simpson, Oddisee, Muhsinah, Kaidi Tatham, Wildchild, Olivier Daysoul, Tanya Morgan, and a family of artists from London including Floating Points, Finn Peters, Tawiah, Rahel, Fatima, Szjerdene, and several others.
Lau’s debut album ‘New Territories’, released through Ubiquity Records (LA) to great critical acclaim was nominated as one of Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide Top Albums of the Year 2008, and established Eric as a key name at the forefront of progressive British production talent. 2010 saw the release of the V2 E.P through Kilawatt featuring Washington DC’s finest Muhsinah and Oddisee fused with musicianship from Bugz in the Attic maestro Kaidi Tatham . His most recent full length release, Makin’ Sound, an instrumental album on Kilawatt, required a second vinyl pressing after selling out in two weeks, and one of his proudest recent achievements, the single Eric Lau & Friends “See and Under Standing”, raised a substantial sum for Save The Children and saw his success continue throughout 2010.
In addition to Lau’s production’s work he is also a promoter and DJ, holding down residencies (Pause at Market Place, Tomorrow at the C.A.M.P.), featured guest slots around the world, and mixes (BTS Radio). Eric also feels very strongly about supporting young people and emerging talent, and regularly mentors and lead music workshops across London.
2011 looks extremely busy for Lau, who is set to release a follow up to the much loved instrumental LP Makin’ Sound with a new offering called Quadrivium. He will also start work on his second full album entitled One of Many. You can also expect many collaborations, production work and remixes for several other artists.
