DJ RAHAAN

The name Rahaan may be unfamiliar to most in Hong Kong, but there is no doubt the man from the Windy City, Chicago is now one of the world’s most in demand and well respected DJ for the true authentic sound of funk, disco and soul music.

Channelling the spirit of Chicago DJ pioneers like Ron Hardy, Farley Jackmaster Funk and the Hot Mix 5, Rahaan has been laying down sets spanning everything from jacking house, deep disco, boogie and funk since the 80`s. From underground basement parties on the southside of Chicago, to playing at big nights in the UK, Europe and Japan, his skill and energy behind the decks has brought him out from the Chicago underground and onto the world stage, gaining him a cult following.

In addition to his own productions, Rahaan is also known for his own edits of dance floor classics which have been released on labels including StilLove4Music, KAT and Jisco Music. A compilation of his best edits to date is due out soon on Spacemachine records.

Wish everybody a happy and successful Year of the Dragon!

After a small break for Jan 2012, THEGETUP! party is back finally to kick off 2012 this coming Friday night @ INSENSES. This time there will be no special guests, as yours truly will man the 1200s alongside Brown Sugar doing long DJ sets! As always, stretching all form of good music from soul, jazz, hiphop to disco, funk, afrobeat, house, broken beat...on and on!

So come down and have fun next Friday night.

Lastly, just like to thank everyone who've came down to party with us and supportd us throughout, 2011 was a great year and surely 2012 will be another blast. Special thanks to all the friends!
